Who You’ll Work With

As an independent division within Barry-Wehmiller Design Group, Inc., ControlTech Automation (CTA) is a control panel integrator and fabricator for process, packaging, utility, and other industries. CTA is based in St. Louis and specializes in control panels for systems integrators and production facilities located throughout the United States. CTA provides control solutions for single pieces of equipment, entire processes, and complete plants. CTA has engineering design capabilities and builds panels from customer-supplied design packages.

Hours: 2nd Shift 12PM-10:30PM

What You’ll Do

As a Control Panel Wireman, you will be part of a high-performance team that values precision, efficiency, and accountability. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, focuses on the task at hand, and continuously sharpens their skills. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assembling and wiring components accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, ensuring compliance with manufacturing specifications
  • Measuring panels, assembling components, and adjusting parts for proper fit using hand and power tools
  • Drilling, tapping, reaming, countersinking, and spot-facing bolt holes in parts using drill presses and portable power drills
  • Attaching nameplates and marking identifying information on parts
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and work orders to determine material and assembly requirements
  • Disassembling units to replace parts or prepare them for safe and efficient shipping
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring safety and efficiency at all times
  • Proactively communicating with management and teammates regarding any equipment defects or process improvements
  • Rotating through multiple workstations, adapting to workflow needs while maintaining focus and productivity
  • Meeting or exceeding production expectations, demonstrating initiative and commitment to your craft
  • Maintaining and servicing manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime
  • Ensuring compliance with UL (Underwriter Laboratories) specifications and company safety policies
  • Taking ownership of your work and helping drive team success by staying engaged and focused

What You’ll Bring:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • The ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds without assistance
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation, ensuring accuracy in assembly and wiring
  • Strong wiring, assembly, and fabrication skills, with a focus on quality and efficiency
  • The ability to measure parts and determine tolerances using precision measuring instruments
  • Hands-on experience with hand and power tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, wire cutters, saws, drills, and grinders
  • A results-driven mindset, with a commitment to meeting and exceeding production goals
  • A dedication to continuous improvement, always working to sharpen your skill set and stay current in the industry
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative when challenges arise
  • A team-oriented attitude, understanding that success comes from focus, hard work, and collaboration
  • A willingness to be flexible, dependable, and fully engaged in the job
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
