JOB SUMMARY: The LPN performs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and is delegated an assignment by him/her to achieve quality patient care. The LPN shall assist the RN in the implementation of the nursing process by providing direct patient care as evidenced, but not limited to, patient care documentation, direct observation, and patient evaluations. The LPN is responsible and accountable to the Director of Nurses. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to read data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills: Graduate of a recognized LPN program. Must have successfully completed at least 770 clinical practice hours of LPN program. These hours are exclusive of laboratory hours.

Work Experience: Work experience preferred but not required.

Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE

  • Licensed LPN able to practice within the State of MS

Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below

  • Basic Life Support
