To meet this demand, the Application Network and Security Business is hiring!

This position represents an opportunity to join our vibrant company and become part of VMware’s Pre-Sales Engineering / Solutions Architectures team.

In this role, you own the strategy and execution of Security across your target accounts. While the focus is security, this role allows you to engage in infrastructure modernization conversations as well as application modernization conversations and ensure that what is being built is built with security in mind.

What sparked the interest of customers in our portfolio was simple way to create infrastructure with VCF and a simple way to secure it without the need to do bolt on security as you see with traditional security vendors! With VMware vDefend Security, we have security that’s embedded in the hypervisor itself . You can use the same security platform to secure VMs, Containers and Baremetal.

The future Security focused team member will spend time on a variety of strategic accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Map Customer’s Security Business Initiatives to Application Networking and Security Solutions and Strategy
• Lead the technical engagement to drive opportunities to closure. This may involve assessing current customer environment and growth plans, delivering technical workshops, demos and/or proof of concepts, organizing reference calls, establishing a multi-year roadmap, completing a solution design, contributing to RFI/RPF responses.
• Learn to be a trusted advisor in the eyes of the customer
• Drive lead generation activities to build pipeline and identify new opportunities to expand within existing customers to achieve and surpass revenue quota targets while securing wins at reference accounts.
• Develop & execute on a plan to enable our field teams and channel partners to sell VMware solutions
• Partner with VMware Engineering and Product management teams to prioritize customer feature requests into our future product roadmap.
• Collaborate with our support engineers, customer success, technical account managers and Professional Services organization to drive successful customer adoption of VMware Networking and Advanced Security Solution
• Present to customers and establish relationships with Customer Executives.
• Work with Application Network and Security BU GM's and VP to establish executive relationships.
• Maintain deep technical knowledge of Cloud solutions, industry directions and trends.
• Maintain working knowledge of peer and competitor products
• Work collaboratively with Product Management, Technical Marketing and Engineering during the development, launch and continuing refinement of Application Networking and security products
• Document best practices & architectural references in developing and deploying our Security portfolio

Requirements:

• Be comfortable with change and view change as an opportunity to thrive
• Have experience with IT automation, operations and orchestration tools.
• Have Experience supporting large customers and/or teams practicing agile and continuous delivery is preferred.
• Knowledge of security and other security vendors
• Must have working knowledge of VMware portfolio
• 10+ years of experience in technology related areas including: enterprise systems management and infrastructure (datacenter) architecture experience with significant depth around designing, implementing, and managing critical business infrastructure.
• Willingness to travel, as needed, though not likely to exceed 50%
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field or equivalent experience
