Position Description:

Designs and develops software applications with programming languages (Python, JavaScript, and Java). Deploys Application Program Interfaces (APIs) in the cloud through automation with integrated security and testing. Coordinates and operates Datadog platform to provide reliable and secure access to logs, metrics and traces across the hybrid cloud environment. Instruments, generates, collects, and exports telemetry data to analyze software performance and behavior using Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and other opensource observability tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepares reports and correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, and status.
• Modifies existing cloud software to correct errors.
• Adapts software to new hardware, and upgrades interfaces.
• Improves performance while implementing new technologies.
• Develops cloud software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
• Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects.
• Proposes modifications and improvements based on user need.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) deploying, testing, and operating Cloud based applications and software components using Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) deploying, testing, and operating Cloud based applications and software components using Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing Cloud applications in Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) or Azure, using API Gateways, and serverless functions (Azure functions, AWS Lambda, or Step Functions).
• DE deploying, testing, and operating Cloud based applications in a financial services environment, including designing and building scalable and resilient applications in the Cloud using Python, Java, C#, or Go.
• DE developing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate infrastructure deployment using Terraform, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, or automation status result dashboards.
