Position Description:

Maintains the functionality of Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)-based Application Programs Interfaces (APIs) by implementing query languages (GraphQL), and Networks. Executes DevOps tasks using container-based runtimes and orchestration (Kubernetes, Rushhour, Datadog, Jenkins, and Splunk). Develops software applications in Java Web services and API solutions. Develops applications using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), builds RESTful services, XML/JSON, and modern Application Servers. Implements Business Process Management (BPM)/Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) solutions using Camunda. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing client and server applications within a cloud computing environment using Java, Spring Boot, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing client and server applications within a cloud computing environment using Java, Spring Boot, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) architecting and implementing a high performant, scalable multi-agent, and distributed system using Docker, and associated containerization technologies with advanced proficiency in Java including programming languages and enterprise frameworks (Spring MVC and Spring Boot).
  • DE designing, developing, and deploying cloud native financial reporting application services using AWS cloud technologies (EC2, SQS, SNS, and Lambda); and designing high performance message flows utilizing message queue services including Apache Kafka, Active MQ, and Apache Camel.
  • DE testing customer facing enterprise back-end applications for pre- and post-installation including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing for complex use cases using Java programming languages and testing frameworks (Junit).
  • DE performing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) by building pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment of software applications using tools Git and Jenkins; and developing monitoring dashboards using Datadog or Splunk.
