Overview

The MTS III, Test role plays a pivotal part in the integration, validation, and release of complex hardware and software systems within the In-flight Entertainment (IFE) sector. This role focuses on delivering high-quality technical support and guidance across development, testing, integration, and deployment stages—ensuring robust system performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute hardware/software integration for new and legacy IFE systems.
  • Own and manage test and integration activities for assigned Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and overall system functionalities.
  • Conduct testing and debugging of development software within the defined LRUs.
  • Document and review all testing activities, ensuring proper traceability and submission.
  • Maintain and manage test rack configurations to simulate system environments.
  • Execute comprehensive software and system tests covering all IFE functions.
  • Participate in cross-functional reviews (design, development, requirements).
  • Perform system regression testing post-software/hardware updates.
  • Support broader engineering initiatives across the organization.
  • Develop test procedures derived from system requirements and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Panasonic Avionics IFE systems.
  • Act as a technical focal point for integration, development, and issue resolution for assigned systems.
  • Analyze root causes of anomalies, proposing corrective and preventive measures.

Additional Skills:

  • Solid foundation in software development life cycles and test methodologies
  • Familiarity with avionics interfaces and aerospace industry standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong documentation and organizational abilities
  • Effective interpersonal skills to engage with internal/external teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Capable of managing project timelines and deliverables independently

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux or Unix operating systems
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, ARINC)
  • Scripting experience (Shell, Bash, or equivalent)

Preferred / Good to Have:

  • Experience with Python scripting for test automation and data processing
  • Familiarity with database languages (e.g., SQL)
  • Exposure to embedded software and real-time operating systems
  • Background in telephony, cellular modems, wireless networks, SATCOM, and Ethernet
