BSAP Summer Institute

This program offers acceleration and enrichment opportunities for HCPSS students entering Grades K-9. Students participate in grade-level academic courses (reading/English, math, science, social studies) each morning, and in a wide range of enrichment opportunities in the afternoon.

LOCATIONS/TIMES:

  • June 26 - July 21, 2023 (Monday-Friday; no program on Monday, July 4th)
  • 8:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. (program start and end times may change)
  • Grades K-4 will be held at Phelps Luck Elementary School
  • Grades 5-9 will be held at Long Reach High School

Schools and offices are closed on July 4th.

SALARY RATES:

Non-HCPSS Teachers will receive $41.19 an hour.

Non-HCPSS Paraeducators will receive $17.53 an hour

All staff are required to attend mandatory training/preparation. Training dates will be provided at a later time.

Paraeducator Applicants must submit a complete application with the following items:

  • work history, volunteer work, and/or dates of unemployment for the past 5 years - If you are a student, you may document this information under experience.
  • three professional references that supervised you in a paid or volunteer capacity - If you are a student, you may use teacher, advisor, counselor, and/or administrators.
  • High school diploma, GED or higher - If you are a student, you may provide a copy of your HS transcript.
  • If you are a student between the ages of 16-17, you must also provide a work permit.
