About the Role

As a Mateline Foreman at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in managing modular construction projects by ensuring quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery. This position requires strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving abilities and offers the opportunity to directly influence the timely completion and quality of modular units across multiple sites.

You will collaborate with field teams, subcontractors, and site leadership to oversee day-to-day operations and maintain adherence to safety and construction standards. This is a fully onsite role located in Chandler, AZ, with frequent travel (up to 85%) to other project sites.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversees and coordinates the installation and finishing of interior structures and fixtures within modular units
  • Interprets blueprints to ensure dimensions, materials, and specifications align with building codes and project requirements
  • Plans and assigns interior finishing tasks, including drywall, flooring, cabinetry, trim work, painting, and fixture placement
  • Completes interior construction as directed by the General Site Superintendent, ensuring high standards and schedule adherence
  • Inspects subcontractor work (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) for compliance with specifications and quality standards
  • Identifies and resolves issues to maintain project timelines and workmanship quality
  • Ensures site safety compliance by conducting training and enforcing regulatory standards
  • Monitors project progress, adjusts schedules, and provides regular reports to site leadership
  • Manages tool and material inventory to support uninterrupted finishing operations
  • Reviews and edits Mateline timekeeping exceptions in UKG to ensure accurate payroll processing
  • Leads and promotes a safe work culture in accordance with company policies and OSHA requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Who You Are

  • 3–7 years of experience in ground-up construction, preferably commercial or multifamily projects
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Construction Management preferred
  • Hands-on experience in interior finishing (drywall, flooring, cabinetry, trim work)
  • Skilled in coordinating subcontractors for MEP (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) installations
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, construction scheduling, and workforce management
  • Experience using UKG or similar timekeeping/payroll systems
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, Procore, MS Projects, and CAE/CAD applications
  • OSHA 30-hour certification and First Aid/CPR preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, organization, and decision-making abilities
  • Willingness to travel up to 85% of the time
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Compensation & Benefits

Below is the expected base salary range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.
