HealthFitness is looking for opening shift, part-time Lifeguards to join the aquatics team at our client site located in West Hartford, CT. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests.

Part-time, up to 25 hrs/week

Schedule: Opening shift, M-F 5:45a-11a and potential weekend coverage

What you'll be doing

• Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
• Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Respond appropriately to any emergency.
• Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

What you'll need to have

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification required.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
• Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.
• Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.

All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:

• 500 yard swim.
• Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.
• Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.
• Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.

Compensation: $16/Hour - $20/Hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
