Job Description
DPR is currently looking for a Visual Planner who can make an impact on our Team of Planning Scheduling & Production Planning (PSPP) group. Planning & Scheduling will be of commercial projects within our Advances Technology core market. PSPP Resources will work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, Estimators and Regional Leadership teams.
Visual Planning SME Key Responsibilities:
PLAN – Ability to Strategically Plan the Work
- Strategically plan Visual Planning usage for all stages of the project
- Intermediate - Knowledge of Construction Means and Methods allowing them to relate and “tailor” the solution to fit a specific project team’s needs.
HANDS ON – Ability to do the Work
- Some knowledge of Synchro Pro (or similar tools) preferred
- Ability to jump in and help with deadlines
- Troubleshoot software/processes related to Visual Planning
- Assisting with pursuit kickoffs and getting the right information
- Assisting with Visual Planning setup at pursuit phase
INFLUENCE – Ability to Sell the Work
- Presenting to different work groups on the benefits of Visual Planning (specific to that workgroup)
- Assisting “Kick-off” meetings with project teams
- Assisting with content creation and distribution of Visual Planning presentation material
SHARE – Ability to Train Others
- Train new users on all Synchro Tools
- Train advanced users on the best way to train others
- Assist project teams with following best practices in the Visual Planning Framework
INSIGHT – Ability to Connect with Industry
- Advanced knowledge of different scheduling “tactics” in the industry (CPM,Takt, Last Planner, etc.) allowing them to relate with other planners in the industry.
- Work with emerging and existing software vendors to improve and enhance their platforms
- Work with the Visual Planning Committee on improving the Visual Planning Framework
- Work with the Visual Planning committee on strategic rollout to all regions
- Integrate with other workgroups at DPR (Data, FTG, Innovation, etc.) to help achieve DPR’s 2030 goals
Qualifications:
We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:
- Awareness of the power of the Model based workflows to make Construction better
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent field experience.
- Some Oracle Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software experience.
- Some Revit, Autocad, Navisworks experience.
- A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- A desire to be a lifelong learner.
- This position is salaried.
