Description
The Restaurant General Manager’s primary job duties are to oversee the safe and efficient operation of the restaurant
and Banquets. This manager supervises a staff that consistently provides excellent guest service while promoting
profitability for the hotel. He/She is also responsible for ensuring that health and safety standards are maintained at all
times per state and federal regulations. This position provides training, support, and resources to the restaurant and
banquet staff and closely coordinates and communicates with the Executive Chef on anticipated volumes, scheduled
events, menus, etc. The Restaurant General Manager will work closely with James Beard Award-winning Chef Stephan
Pyles.

Job Description - Restaurant General Manager
Assure all beverage servers are properly trained in local and state beverage service laws and comply with
Interstate Inn’s company beverage service policies and procedures.
Responsible for financial performance as identified by Interstate Inn
Enforce hotel’s cash handling policies and procedures
Work with Executive Chef to coordinate restaurant supply purchases; monitor and maintain inventory of supplies
to prevent shortages.
Participate in month-end inventory as needed.
Participate in the daily operation of the restaurant/Bar.
Receive guest feedback on overall restaurant experience personally.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and décor at all times.
Assist Kitchen Management by controlling costs i.e. limit waste, breakage, theft and minimize comps; conduct
price shopping, labor management.
Responsibilities
Job Duties:
- Supervise restaurant, meeting/catering facilities, lounge, and all other applicable outlets.
- Create promotions and marketing programs to drive guests to the restaurant and/or other outlets as applicable.
- Develop programs, promotions, and advertising to enhance sales, increase revenues, and drive guests to
- restaurants and outlets.
- Communicate with the Sales Dept. to facilitate effective and professional delivery of all meetings/banquet
- contracts.
- Prepare work schedules in accordance with forecasts, staffing guidelines, and labor productivity goals.

- Proficiency in computer technology, i.e., Microsoft Office, Toast (POS), OpenTable and Google Suite. Proficient in operating general office equipment.
Experience / Education:
- A minimum of 5 years related work experience required; management or previous supervisory experience preferred;
- College degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience; Serve-Safe Certification; TIPS certification
Compensation
$80,000- $90,000 yearly
