NEOGEN JOB ADVERT – DIRECTOR, INTERNAL AUDIT

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director of Internal Audit to play a critical role in strengthening governance, risk management, and internal control processes across our global operations.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this high-impact leadership position offers a unique opportunity to drive enterprise risk assurance, lead strategic audit initiatives, and provide key insights to senior leadership and the Audit Committee. This is a hybrid or on-site position, offering flexibility while ensuring strong cross-functional partnership and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute a dynamic, risk-based internal audit plan that aligns with Neogen’s global strategy and compliance objectives.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams worldwide to build and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting.
• Proactively monitor and adapt to evolving regulatory requirements, audit practices, and industry trends to elevate audit performance.
• Deliver impactful audit findings and recommendations to executive leadership and the Audit Committee, emphasizing root cause analysis and actionable risk mitigation strategies.
• Champion the use of data analytics and automation tools to enhance audit quality, efficiency, and insights.
• Provide critical control perspective and support during organizational change initiatives, acquisitions, and ERP implementations.
• Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing internal audit team, including oversight of third-party providers.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO, Audit Committee, and senior leadership on governance, risk, and compliance matters.
• Contribute to enterprise-level projects and initiatives as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive audit, risk management, or public accounting experience, including leadership roles within a global organization.
• CPA or CIA certification required.
• In-depth knowledge of internal audit standards, methodologies, and best practices.
• Demonstrated success managing cross-functional projects, multiple priorities, and diverse stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Big 4 or national CPA firm experience strongly preferred.
• Expertise in audit technology and analytics tools.
• Experience with global manufacturing or life sciences industries is a plus.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid or on-site position in a professional office environment.
• Occasional travel and extended hours may be required during peak audit cycles or strategic initiatives.
