Neogen Corporation is seeking a Senior Research Technician to join our growing team! This position will play a critical role in supporting new product development across our Petrifilm and Molecular Detection System portfolios. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in microbiology or molecular biology and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated R&D lab setting. This is an opportunity to work cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, and engineering teams while driving impactful experiments that bring innovation to life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct mixing, coating, and plating experiments supporting R&D for thin film development
• Execute experiments aligned with Molecular Detection System assay development
• Cultivate subject matter expertise in an NPI (New Product Introduction) focus area
• Write and execute experimental plans that align with project timelines
• Support development and documentation of test methods
• Maintain and propagate BSL1 and BSL2 culture panels using aseptic technique
• Perform general lab support, ordering, and upkeep for GLP compliance
• Other duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience:

• BS or advanced degree in a relevant field with 6+ years of related industry experience
• Proven experience in industrial microbiology or molecular biology laboratories
• Familiarity with BSL1 and BSL2 protocols and strong aseptic technique
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain high accuracy

Pay Rate: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour, based on experience
