We are looking for a: Project Management Engineer

Responsabilities:

The selected candidate will operate within the Global Combat Air Programme, inside the Flight Systems Engineering Integration Team, that is an international team composed of employees from the industry Partner Companies constituting the Joint Venture that will act as prime contractor for the programme.

Flight Systems are defined as the set of systems that provide all the functions regarding the ability to effectively and safely control and manage the aircraft in all flight phases.

In this context, the selected candidate will report hierarchically to the Italian lead of the Flight System Engineering Integration Team and will be functionally tasked by the programme management organisation.

He/she will be responsible to interface with the different Flight Systems teams in three different countries, in order to support them with the definition of the schedules and planning activities relevant to the design and development of their subsystems.

He/she will be in charge to develop the Flight Systems Engineering Integration Team schedule with technical support from the team members, and to collect and integrate all the inputs from the Flight Systems subsystems teams into an overall Flight Systems schedule.

He/she will monitor the progress of the activities, through regular statusing events.

He/she will report regularly on the progress of the activities to the Flight Systems Engineering Integration Team and, upon delegation of Flight Systems Engineering Integration Team leader, periodically and with the established cadence, to the higher level management organisation. This will include providing suitable input to the earned value process.

He/she will be responsible to coordinate with the Flight Systems Engineering Integration Team members and the Flight Systems subsystems teams in order to identify applicable project Assumptions, Dependencies, Exclusions, Risks and Opportunities, to harmonise and validate the information from the subsystems under the authority of the Flight Systems Engineering Integration Team and to finally convey the information to the relevant programme management organisation.

He/she will support the Flight Systems Engineering Integration Team Leader with a number of non-routine collateral activities related to project/program management tasks, like (not exhaustive list) definition of the Statement of Works, preparation of responses to Request for Proposals and to Request for Quotation, assessment of current size of the teams versus necessary size of the teams. This will also require interfacing as necessary with other company functions (e.g. procurement, supply chain, manufacturing).

Education: Master’s degree in STEM area is required, preferably in Operations Management Engineering.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of most common programme management processes and practices, spanning from planning to monitoring to reporting;
  • Familiarity with earned value management and principles;
  • PMP® Certification is a plus;
  • Academic knowledge of Aerospace/Aeronautical matters is a plus;
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite. Knowledge of MS Project is a must.
