Description:

Position Purpose:

The Unit Clerk performs receptionist and secretarial duties on the clinical unit. Serves as a communication liaison on the clinical unit.

What you Will Do:

  • Assures the medical record is adequately supplied and in proper order.
  • Assures the workstation equipment is functioning appropriately, office supplies are adequate (not excessive), and maintains an updated working knowledge of new equipment and technology.
  • Transcribes and/or enters written physician orders, completes necessary forms, requisitions, and communication of all orders approved/reviewed by RN.
  • Places and maintains manual orders and prints appropriate downtime forms as needed
  • Performs duties accurately, recognizing their importance and relationship to patient care.
  • Maintains record (inventory) of computers and other equipment for all devices assigned to department/unit.
  • Troubleshoots low-level computer/equipment issues.
  • Performs routine maintenance on computers/equipment devices and utilizes appropriate processes/systems to communicate computer/equipment problems/issues

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education [formal]:

  • High school graduate or GED or equivalent.
  • Experience: Basic computer experience required. Experience in a clerical role preferred.
  • Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 year
