Each step, from a warehouse to your doorstep, for a package is being orchestrated by the Routing and Planning systems. Aggregating the necessary data, allocating demand, planning routes, assigning drivers, simulation platforms, and much more, all work in parallel to ensure items are getting from point to point as efficiently as possible.
Same day deliveries on everyday items, groceries delivered within a couple hours, or pro-bono food bank deliveries. The Speed Routing team owns the Routing tech that delivers over one billion packages a year and are continually pushing the boundaries of what is possible in terms of getting items to customers faster. We build vehicle Routing solvers that optimize delivery efficiency by approximating solutions to the Traveling Salesman Problem subject to various real-world constraints (for example, drivers can only fit so many packages into their cars). We build input aggregation workflows that are gathering TBs of data used to make planning decisions across the Routing and Planning org. We build simulation capabilities and additional workflows that leverage Routing tech to influence additional operation processes across Last Mile. Our ability to engage with, support, and provide a truly innovative experience to both customers and our delivery providers has become more critical as we continue to expand the number of delivery providers and customer product offerings.
