The College of Arts & Sciences invites applications for the position of Instructor or Lecturer in Lakota Language, Native American Studies, and English. This is a term position with the expectation of renewal. An earned master’s degree is required, and a Ph.D. is preferred. This position will report to the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and will have a shared faculty appointment in the Departments of Modern Languages and Linguistics, History, and English.

The successful candidate will teach lower-division courses in Lakota as well as courses in Native American Studies and English composition and literature. Additional responsibilities may include service to the Native American Studies program as well as service related to student advising and retention.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate evidence of excellence in teaching, expertise in current methodologies and culture-based instruction, including integration of technology in the classroom. An earned master’s degree is required, and a Ph.D. is preferred, in one of the relevant disciplines, as well as demonstrated proficiency in Lakota Language.
