Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description

The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of food products. This includes testing finished products for various parameters such as acid, salt, pH, and sulfites. The role involves monitoring production processes, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular assessments on incoming materials and outgoing products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
  • Prepare and present quality assurance reports.
  • Train staff on proper food handling procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Participate in health and safety committee activities and conduct site inspections to identify and correct unsafe practices.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Ability to analyze product samples for harmful microorganisms or chemical contaminants.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with the production team and regulatory bodies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in the Sciences (Biology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Food Science, Biochemistry, etc.) highly preferred.
  • 3 plus years of Food Safety/Quality Experience.

Work Environment

The position is based in a food manufacturing environment. This is a day shift position, and weekends will be required during the harvest season.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.80/hr.
