Job Title: Wet Process Tech

Job Description

As a Wet Process Tech, you will be responsible for blending in three separate tank farms and ensuring compliance with Customer’s Quality Process Standards and Specification Requirements. You will be involved in batching concentrate, performing daily process rounds, troubleshooting processing system problems, and taking appropriate corrective actions. Additionally, you will support weekly line sanitizations, treat wastewater streams, and conduct solution testing using laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Blend in three separate tank farms.
  • Understand and perform to Customer’s Quality Process Standards and Specification Requirements.
  • Batch concentrate as required.
  • Perform daily process rounds to ensure smooth operation.
  • Troubleshoot processing system problems and take corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production lines during weekly line sanitizations.
  • Treat wastewater streams effectively.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment for solution testing, including chlorine meters for chlorine levels.
  • Assist with safe, efficient, and continuous operation of blending responsibilities and equipment.
  • Ensure quality products are produced in the appropriate quantity and within established guidelines.
  • Work independently and as a productive member of the manufacturing team.
  • Sanitize blending equipment regularly.
  • Maintain and monitor water systems and wastewater disposal.
  • Monitor all production to ensure lotion requirements are met.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitization of process equipment and blending areas.
  • Conduct chemical raw material inventories as needed.
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance and Manufacturing personnel using process measurement data.
  • Place non-conforming items on hold using the company Hold/Reject process.
  • Assist in root cause determination, corrective actions, and documentation process.
  • Comply with all regulatory processes and procedures.
  • Handle and dispose of chemicals properly and understand GHS codes.
  • Understand and comply with lockout/tag-out procedures.
  • Follow all sanitary practices for sampling of process equipment, materials, and assets.

Essential Skills

  • Competence in mathematics.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience in the chemical industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP, blending, compounding, and batching processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to continuously lift 50lbs throughout a 12-hour shift.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in chemical raw material inventory management.
  • Understanding of Quality Windows and Out-of-Specification (OOS) variable/attribute testing.
  • Ability to work in a safe and ethical manner at all times.

Work Environment

The role is based in a temperature-controlled manufacturing setting focused on wet wipe production. It involves 12-hour shifts from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The position requires significant physical activity, including continuously lifting 50lbs throughout the shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
