GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Office of Technology, this position maintains the operational integrity of information technology and provides technical training for staff. The responsibilities of this position include the installation and troubleshooting of hardware and software. This individual will also assist in the acquisition and utilization of technology resources, providing technical instruction and consultation to school/department staff.
MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates technology needs within the building
- Organizes, schedules, and responds to requests in a timely manner.
- Assists with the installation, maintenance, and operation of a network, as needed.
- Facilitates the repair and upgrade of hardware by troubleshooting problems, performing simple repairs, and/or sending equipment out of the building as required.
- Coordinates the acquisition, inventory, and distribution of software and hardware, ensuring that the appropriate requirements are available, and adhering to licensure guidelines.
- Maintains a license inventory for software purchased by the school/ department.
- Serves as a liaison between the school/department and the Department of Technology.
- Assists with the preparation of a budget to purchase technology resources, and facilitates the procurement of selected items.
- Assists with technology projects managed by the Department of Technology as needed.
- Proactively maintains technology hardware, operating systems, and software.
Participate and provides training
- Assists with staff development technical training.
- Maintains familiarity with available software.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for learning and integrating technology.
- Facilitates the implementation of the Division’s and School’s technology plans.
- Manages and trains student technology interns, as applicable, to assist with the maintenance, and utilization of hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Attends technical training hosted by the Department of Technology.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Two (2) years of job related experience.
- Technical support certification (CompTIA A+ or equivalent) preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work environment is primarily inside, with low/moderate noise, temperatures that are primarily controlled, and no exposure to chemicals or other negative air quality elements.
- The work is light/moderate work, requiring exertion of up to 50 pounds of force to move or lift objects.
