Job Description:
- The Buyer will assist the Buying Team in expanding selection by setting up new vendors and items, maintaining the product catalog and managing pricing.
- Job responsibilities include new product launch & coordination, maintaining product cost, retail price, content and images, vendor relations, and assisting with special projects.
- Additional responsibilities include supporting and training as a backup to Control Buyer.
- Successful candidates will be highly organized, self motivated, detail oriented and have strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point).
- An understanding of data management and databases is also a plus.
- The candidate must be able to work in a highly demanding, but collegial environment where teamwork is a must.
Responsibilities:
- 3-5 years of buyer experience, (electrical or compressor industry) preferred
- Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, Vlookups) 2 - 4 Years
- Data analysis – use tools to get averages of data, checking opinions on the data sets. Looking at which codes are higher.2 - 4 Years
- General contractor construction – knowledge of how to troubleshoot any issues that arise. (permit issues or other industry standards) 2 - 4 Years
- Good negotiation 2 - 4 Years
- Develop and manage relationships with our key suppliers and business partners to enable and support project execution.
- Review supplier designs and proposals to ensure that scope, pricing, and schedules support business needs.
- Support consistent work package sourcing processes consistent with Client sourcing policies.
- Facilitate suppliers’ understanding of Client global policies, equipment design standards, budget and cost targets, service and quality expectations.
- Drive suppliers’ continuous improvement and value engineering in support of program’s performance metrics: quality, delivery, capacity, cost and safety.
- Monitor suppliers’ supply chain, manufacturing, human capital with respect to overall program objectives.
- Administer change management program that ensures program delivered per supporting commercial agreement with focus on cost, quality, and schedule objectives.
- Develop alternate sourcing strategies to optimize costs and ensure continuity of supply.
- Someone who can understand compressor and air piping scope.

Education:
- Bachelors degree in management or related field.
