Job Description:
Technology and Trades at Madison College is seeking a Senior Laboratory Coordinator to be responsible for training and supporting both full- and part-time faculty and support staff.
Playing a key role in the creation, maintenance, and delivery of all laboratory courses, typically overseeing 5–7 lab courses per semester. Responsibilities include performing routine competency checks for new employees and students, ensuring adherence to quality control protocols, enforcing all safety procedures, and providing supplemental instruction across multiple lab environments.
The Senior Laboratory Coordinator also coordinates daily lab operations, including the preparation of solutions and bacterial cultures, weekly development of cell cultures, lab setup and cleanup, equipment maintenance, and supervision of open lab sessions for students. Also, managing inventory, orders necessary materials and supplies, and develops laboratory instructions aligned with current safety and industry standards. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
This is an onsite, full-time position, 40 hours per week during the 40-week academic year. The schedule offers flexibility Monday through Friday within the college’s operating hours of 7:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
