Position: Residential Installation Technician

Location: Miami, FL

Pay Range: $21-$24.50/hour, based on experience and background

Contract

Project Details:

  • Scope: Install and program security systems in residential communities.
  • Candidate Fit: Ideal candidates will have experience with low voltage equipment installs, add-ons, conversions, radio replacements, and wire pulling for residential and small business customers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Install low voltage equipment, add-ons, conversions, and radio replacements.
  • Pull wires for residential and small business customers.
  • Run remote tests to ensure equipment is operating properly.
  • Interact with customers, including educating them on services.
  • Track inventory and jobs using a smartphone, laptop, or tablet.

Selling Points for Candidates:

  • Possible conversion to permanent employment based on metrics, inventory management, and upselling.
  • Mileage reimbursement of $0.26 per mile, up to 600 miles per week.
  • Company-provided cell phone.

Must-Have Technologies or Required Experience:

  1. CCTV experience
  2. Burglar Alarm (BA) experience
  3. CAT 5 & CAT 6 experience
  4. Low voltage experience
  5. Reliable transportation (SUV/Large Sedan with 4 doors)
  6. Basic hand tools (screwdriver, pliers, wire cutters, drills, multimeter, etc.)
  7. 6 ft+ ladder (collapsible preferred)
  8. Current and valid State Driver’s License

Nice-to-Haves:

  1. Networking background (tech-savvy)
  2. Organized and great at keeping track of inventory
  3. Excellent customer service skills
  4. Sales background (upselling at each job)
  5. AV experience
  6. Smart home installation experience

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current valid State Driver’s License.
  • Reliable transportation (specific insurance policy required), basic hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, and a drill), and a 6-8 foot ladder.
