Job Title: Shipfitter

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Shipfitter with at least 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate should have expertise in tacking using TIG and MIG welding techniques.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Perform tack welding using TIG and MIG techniques.
• Utilize hand tools such as clamps, hammers, mauls, gougers, grinders, saws, band saws, drills, tapes, and scales.
• Ensure accuracy and precision in shipfitting tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.

Essential Skills

• At least 3 years of shipfitting experience.
• Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Experience with tack welding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Formal craft training in shipfitting.
• Strong understanding of shop mathematics.

Work Environment

The work environment is an outdoor covered production/shop setting. The facility currently employs 230 people, and the work schedule is from 5 AM to 3:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Slidell, Louisiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.20 - $26.20/hr.
