Fabricator

Job Description

The Fabricator will be responsible for the fabrication of sheet metal in the production of lighting. This role involves the use of a laser, punch press machine, and performing machine setups. The Fabricator will examine specifications of orders using blueprints, drawings, and work orders, and fabricate workpieces according to these specifications. The successful candidate will ensure that products meet the desired standards through visual examination, touch, or by using tape rules, calipers, or gauges.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate sheet metal for lighting production using laser and punch press machines.
  • Perform machine setups for production tasks.
  • Examine order specifications using blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
  • Ensure fabricated workpieces meet desired standards through visual examination and measurement tools.

Essential Skills

  • Fabricating experience on sheet metal.
  • Proficiency in using calipers and tape measures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with fabrication processes and assembly.
  • Skill in using hand tools for fitting and assembly.

Work Environment

The work environment is an indoor machine shop that is climate-controlled. There are two shifts available: 1st shift from 6am to 2:30pm, and 2nd shift from 2pm to 11pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
