Job Title: Pipe Layer

Job Description

Prepare the area, laying pipe, and directing trenching and grading. Perform tasks such as digging ditches and installing pipes using pipe lasers and transits. Accurately locate and mark the correct position of pipes and fittings in an underground trench. Must be open to travel in the southeast with hotel and per diem provided.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in pipe laying and civil operations.
  • Experience in trenching and trench digging.
  • Knowledge of underground utilities, wastewater, and storm drains.
  • Ability to handle hand and power tools efficiently.
  • Expertise in grading, erosion control, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Understanding of earthworks and concrete work.
  • Ability to shoot grade and experience with gravity sewer pipes.
  • Effective communication with Heavy Equipment Operators for pipe placement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience installing large diameter pipes for water, sewer, and storm drains.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
