Compute Data Plane is responsible for designing and developing core functions for Virtual Machine Infrastructure (VMI), Disaster Recovery Systems, OS Images and Agents. The fundamental architectural components include for VM delivery for CPU and GPU workloads, OS images for Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, Debian and Windows, Oracle Cloud Agent that provides manageability of all hosts, Automated recovery automation for any region during any unforeseen outages, health monitoring, triage automation, and diagnostic services. All these services are essential for our customers to run distributed application workloads across thousands of VMs, leveraging technologies latest virtualization technologies.

OCI is looking for a hands-on lead systems engineer within the Compute Data plane team in Compute Org. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of building a cutting-edge orchestration building automated recovery systems, designing and developing agents, developing ultra-high-performance VMI platform designed to support millions of VMs running on thousands of Hypervisors supporting hundreds of customer workloads.

This high-visibility and high-impact role will help shape our future infrastructure business and enable growth. The role comes with a high degree of personal accountability and autonomy and will require effective engagement across all cross-organizational functions to deliver results.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,800 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
