Position: Managing Nurse Practitioner

Job Type: Exempt

Shift Details: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Work Location: Crisis - Franklin County Crisis Center

Salary/Hourly Wage: $180,000 - $187,000/year

Position Summary: The Managing Nurse Practitioner is responsible for all Nurse Practitioner services under the direction of the Medical Director. The Managing Nurse Practitioner position also works closely with the Program Director to coordinate and improve clinical care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:
    • Supervises, evaluates and provides leadership and coaching to Nurse Practitioner personnel.
    • Responsible for scheduling and arranges coverage for Nurse Practitioner absences.
    • Provides Clinical Supervision to Nurse Practitioner staff.
  2. Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Assures that the delivery of NP care complies with licensing regulations and accreditation standards.
    • Completes clinical documentation as required.
    • Provides ongoing audits of services provided by Nurse Practitioner staff.
    • Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
    • Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
  3. Cross Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to continuously improve productivity, efficiency, recovery outcomes and medical care.
    • Coordinates the relationship with outside medical and nursing support services including pharmacy and laboratory services.
  4. Additional Duties:
    • Works as an NP in a variety of capacities during staff shortages and in emergent situations.
    • Performs other related duties assigned.

Job Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. Education/Licenses:
    • Master’s Degree or above from an accredited School of Nursing with appropriate training as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner.
    • Certification in Psychiatric care (PMHNP)
    • Valid and current state-specific Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration required.
    • Valid and current state-specific RN license and Nurse Practitioner license (Compact licensure preferred).
  2. Experience:
    • Four (4) years of nursing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
    • Two (2) years of behavioral health nursing.
    • Two (2) years of management experience.
  3. Skills:
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
    • Ability to problem solve.
    • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
    • Effective listening skills.
    • Excellent documentation skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners. .
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion.
    • Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
  4. Driving Requirements:
    • If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations’ driving policy.
    • If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non-Driver Attestation form must be signed.
  5. Miscellaneous Requirement(s):
    • Travel required based on business need.
    • Applicants must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement.
    • Successfully complete and meet all requirements of the comprehensive credentialing process.
    • Provide the required credentials to successfully complete the credentialing process.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.

      • Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
      • Must be able to pass education verification check.
      • Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states.
      • Must be able to pass three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position).

A Nursing Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process.

Physical Demands

May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses. May be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds.

Work Environment

May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility. May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused.

Pay Range: $180,000 - $187,000 per hour
