Compensation:

Salary: $60,000-$63,000 per year

  • Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

Academy Program Coordination:

  • Responsible for classroom instruction, conducts student and teacher evaluations, maintains discipline and safety of students participating in the STARBASE program.
  • Assists in curriculum and test development, gathers and prepares related materials, coordinates enrichment activities and other activities.
  • Develops and coordinates schedules subject to approval of supervisor.
  • Coordinates enrollment for program academies and projects.
  • Complies and submits statistical, financial and related reports regarding students, teachers, service support and other participants to supervisors.
  • Assists in implementing projects related to public information, promotional activities, STARBASE 2.0, and STARBASE Outreach Opportunities.
  • Assists and actively pursues curriculum development both at the local and national levels.
  • Maintains facilities, equipment and supplies.
  • Coordinates volunteer participation and teaching.

Performs other duties as assigned:

  • Occasional overnight travel regarding national STARBASE meetings and training as required, according to State Comptrollers’ policies and procedures. State-wide travel as needed to participate in staff development, program development meetings, and school visits.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited College or University and three (3) years of teaching
  • experience in Education, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in STEM related field. Must have strong organizational skills and an understanding of administrative procedures. Must be flexible and team orientated with the ability to multitask. Requires strong STEM knowledge. Must have strong computer, technology, written and oral skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of teaching experience in elementary education or STEM related field.

Required:

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and pass KBI background investigation. Can obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance as determined for the position as a Condition of Employment.
