Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and six (6) years of related experience with pneumatics, electrical and digital HVAC control devises, systems and their applications or an equivalent combination of education and experience Valid driver's license required and must be insurable by the University's insurance carrier. Grade 7 (salaried)

Position Description:

The Automation System Specialist IV position responsibilities include operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement of pneumatic, electric, electronic and direct digital controls for building HVAC systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, manage, test & commission building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems (EMS).
  • Manage Building Automation System and Energy management System employees with hiring, performance evaluations, and training
  • Manage contractor specifications, problems/issues, performance, and administration.
  • Assist in the acceptance phase of commissioning construction projects.
  • Troubleshoot possible issues, including identifying and debugging software, electrical or pneumatic, and installation problems with BAS and EMS.
  • Generate reports and recommendations on the performance, condition, operation, and maintenance of building equipment and systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with installation, programming, start-up, commissioning, integration, troubleshooting, and repair of one or more direct digital control systems such as Siemens, Apogee, Schneider Electric I/A Series, Tridium Niagara R2, etc.
  • Experience generating web-based graphics, alarms, trend,s and other automated reports. Experience configuring and integrating various manufacturer graphical user interfaces, network-level controllers and field-level controllers using BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus and proprietary protocols.
  • Possesses strong computer skills with Excel, Visio, Word and strong interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills.
  • CEM or LEED AP

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
