Job Title: Quality Manager

Job Description

As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of quality objectives and key metrics to enhance product performance and reliability while minimizing costs. You will collaborate with management to establish comprehensive quality plans aligned with customer and business objectives and execute these plans through plant Quality organizations and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality policy, company standards, and regulatory and external standards.
  • Collaborate with management to optimize processes in support of AS9100, ISO 9001, and MIL-STD-790 Quality Management Standards.
  • Conduct periodic Gap Analyses to evaluate Quality system performance and organizational capabilities, and develop plans to address critical gaps.
  • Determine staffing requirements to meet quality and delivery expectations, and ensure adherence to schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
  • Select, develop, coach, and motivate employees to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Provide recognition and address issues with employees, supported by documentation.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and establish clear goals and performance expectations.
  • Supervise personnel, managing hiring, training, performance management, and career development.
  • Plan, implement, and oversee activities of direct reports, utilizing quality improvement methods.
  • Ensure corrective and preventive actions effectively identify root causes, implement solutions, and validate plans.
  • Drive improvements in key performance indicators and assist in developing policies and procedures for the Quality Management System.
  • Drive waste and inefficiencies out of processes while complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Essential Skills

  • Quality engineering and assurance expertise
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and audit processes
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent education and experience
  • Seven or more years of direct manufacturing experience
  • Five years of growth within the Quality function, including supervisory experience
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and function management
  • Knowledge of Electronic Resource Planning and Product Realization systems
  • Problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement philosophies
  • Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing practices
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and interface well with management personnel

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior management experience and exposure to Telecommunication, Defense, Aerospace, and Space products
  • Success in managing Quality related programs and initiatives
  • Professional memberships such as American Society for Quality
  • Black or Green Belt ASQ certification

Work Environment

The work environment involves collaboration with various departments to optimize quality processes and systems. The role demands a focus on continuous improvement and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
