As a Data Links Technician and Analyst with MTSI, you will assist the AATC Data Links Program Manager in operating AATC’s datalink gateway and real time network injects, operating AATC deployed network operations, identifying prospective design updates to mission systems to modernize and increase lethality for the ARC systems.

Primary responsibilities are to:

  • Understand operation of Situational Awareness Data Link (SADL), Link-16, Joint Range Extension Protocol (JREAP), Variable Message Format (VMF), and Data Extraction Reduction Guide (DERG) architectures and message format.
  • Assist the AATC Data Links Program Manager in operating AATC’s datalink gateway and real time network injects, operating AATC deployed network operations, and identifying prospective design updates to mission systems to modernize and increase lethality for the ARC systems.
  • Have in depth knowledge of USAF COMSEC operations/requirements to provide updates to ARC systems.
  • Understand the operation and tactical applications of Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve aircraft and systems.
  • Responsible for post flight data review and collaboration with 309th Software Engineering Group / system vendors to ensure viability with AATC systems.
  • Participate in design reviews, planning for and participating in flight testing, conducting pre-mission and post-mission briefs and mission reviews with project pilots, and assisting with engineering changes.
  • Directly support AATC in the development of advanced combat systems from cradle to grave in an independent, high-energy environment and will operate in multidisciplinary teams of industry, government and military personnel consisting of engineers, analysts, scientists, pilots and other aircrew.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ of datalink network experience, and a strong desire to learn new systems and propose new ideas for F-16 systems, datalink architecture, and a background in DoD COMSEC procedures.
  • Experience with aircraft systems/software test and development, to include software candidate proposal/selection, test plan writing, test provisioning/scheduling, test execution, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Able to work on an aircraft flight line in a high noise environment.
  • Experience with common design and data analysis tools.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to work in a team environment while demonstrating excellent leadership and customer interaction.
  • Possess good analytic skills and be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Possess a can-do attitude and be self-starting, ambitious, and hard-working.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A background in Aircraft Avionics and/or experience with network router configuration.

Education Requirements:

  • B.S. or Associate degree in technical discipline is desired, preferably in network engineering, or computer science.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Secret security clearance required.
  • Must be able to qualify for and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel expected approximately every other month with periodic two-week trips to support AATC aircraft deployments. Up to 20% travel, depending on program workload and work location.
