  • Appointment Type: 1 full-time, continuing position at Banksia and 1 part-time, fixed-term position until December 2025 at Mia Mia Child and Family Study Centre
  • Location: Based at Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde

THE ROLE

We are seeking passionate Early Childhood Teachers to join Banksia Cottage and Mia Mia Child and Family Study Centre, two of our Early Learning Centres operating at Macquarie University.

We have two exciting opportunities:

  • 1 full-time, ongoing ECT at Banksia Cottage
  • 1 part-time (2 days a week), fixed-term ECT until December 2025 at Mia Mia Child and Family Study Centre.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, you will be an advocate for children, believe in the value of quality early education and relationships, and enjoy collaborating within a university community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, evaluate the educational program, including developmental records,
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of child development,
  • Foster respectful and positive interactions with children and families,
  • Collaborate positively and respectfully with a large, diverse team,
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the EYLF and National Quality Standards
  • Support and contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives,
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and continuous improvement,
  • Supervise a small team and manage team performance with support from the Centre Manager,
  • Undertake Responsible Person and/or Room Leader roles as required, and
  • Follow approved policies and procedures to help keep children safe (child protection, supervision, health and wellbeing).

Essential qualifications and requirements

  • ACECQA approved Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Current NESA Accreditation
  • Approved First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualification
  • Working with Children Check
  • Approved Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk of Harm qualification
  • Computer literacy (e.g. Office 365)
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Australia
  • Previous experience working with children aged 0-5 years is desirable
