Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Global Deterrence Defense Department (GX), Strategic Systems Hardware Division (GXW), Production & Sustainment Branch (GXWL) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14

Duties

  • You will act as the Branch Manager and supervise approximately 25 government employees.
  • You will manage and be responsible for the actions and functions for a branch that provides production and sustainment product engineering expertise to sustain the Global Deterrence and Defense systems of the Nation.
  • You will develop strategic and vision for the Branch to support programs/policies and responsible for task execution.
  • You will utilize internal controls, Human Resource Management, goal setting techniques and team building to effectively manage and develop personnel in the Branch.
  • You will support Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles.
  • You will effectively communicate up, down, and across the chain of command, and with outside organizations, sponsors and business partners.
  • You will be responsible for understanding the rules and regulations of the Government Purchase Card program, for ensuring proper purchase card use, and for taking prompt and effective administrative and disciplinary corrective actions when warranted.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 (GS-11/12 grade equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing leadership and oversight on the production and sustainment of defense systems to develop, plan and execute project schedules, milestones and deliverables for the success of programs and an organization.
