PROGRAM START DATE (First Day Students in Session): June 30, 2025

PROGRAM END DATE (Last Day Students in Session): July 23, 2025

EMPLOYEE START DATE: June 24, 2025

EMPLOYEE END DATE: July 24, 2025

TRAINING DATES: June 24, 2025 - June 26, 2025

ANTICIPATED DUTY DAYS/HOURS: Monday – Thursday; 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

LOCATIONS: Chief Joseph Elementary School and Grant High School

CONTINGENCIES

All positions are contingent on enrollment of students. It is essential that applicants remain available. We will, however, make earlier commitments as definite positions become evident.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Special Education Recovery Services- Students who are invited to recovery services are those who qualify through their IEP. The department is reviewing multiple opportunities and modes for which recovery services could be accessed, in-conjunction with the district Learning Acceleration Program. During recovery services students will receive direct instruction in areas related to their IEP. Students and families that qualify for recovery services will receive direct communication from district office.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education, the Behavior Analyst will work with school teams to teach and implement research/evidence based behavior interventions to produce positive behavioral change in students.

  • Leads, coaches and collaborates with teams in developing interventions, functional behavior assessments and behavior support plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students.
  • Conducts descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, and provides behavior analytic interpretations of the results.
  • Designs and supervises behavior analytic interventions, including progress monitoring, data analysis and monitoring implementation fidelity, with various school teams.
  • Teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs and delivers instruction in behavior analysis.
  • Develops procedures and training materials for district staff involved with students with challenging behaviors for the purpose of enhancing programs for students and ensuring that program operations are in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Works effectively and cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, and community members.
  • Supervises the work of staff members who implement behavior analytic interventions.
  • Understands and uses evidenced based practices for students with disabilities (e.g. PECs, assistive technology, visual supports, video modeling, social skills, collaborative problem solving etc)
  • Familiar with common core state standards and educational curricula
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrates strength in organization, communication skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrates interest and engagement in professional learning and reflection
  • Preferred experience in working with children and families who are culturally, linguistically and racially diverse
  • Physical capability to respond to student in order to maintain a safe and supportive school environment
  • Demonstrated competency with data tracking systems, IEP development using computer supports such as Google Drive Applications, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Maintains student records and confidentiality.
  • Meets district, state and federal timelines and legal requirements.
  • Understands current State and Federal laws pertaining to the education of students with disabilities
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building an environment with a common instructional focus, promoting initiatives, and conveying expectations
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts

MINIMMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in education, psychology, or other related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful experience in behavioral analysis and intervention, including supporting students in an educational settings.
  • Current Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in good standing with the BACB
  • Current licensure as an Oregon Licensed Behavior Analyst

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bilingual

PAY RATE: Current PPS BCBA's will be paid their current hourly rate, but not less than the hourly summer school rate. All other hires will be paid the summer school rate of $49.11 an hour.
