Job Summary

The Student Assistant will support Dining Commons as a Mobile & On-Demand Dining Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2025.

The Mobile & On-Demand Dining Student Assistant plays a key role in supporting Eagle Dash and Micro Mini Marts by ensuring efficient food delivery and inventory management across campus. This position involves stocking and organizing inventory, handling deliveries using golf carts or company vehicles, dispatching orders, and assisting with operational tasks. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity for students looking to gain hands-on experience in food service operations, logistics, and inventory management while contributing to a growing department.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Eagle Dash and Micro Mini Marts operations.
  • Stock and organize inventory to maintain an efficient work environment.
  • Accurately count and track product inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly storage area.
  • Safely operate a golf cart and/or company vehicle for deliveries.
  • Deliver food orders across campus in a timely and professional manner.
  • Dispatch orders and provide clear directions to drivers.
  • Enter data related to orders, deliveries, and inventory management using Vendsys and Transact.
  • Perform tasks outdoors and adapt to different weather conditions as needed.

Shift Specifics

  • Minimum 15 hours, up to 25 hours per week
  • Available Shifts: Monday ¿ Friday
    • Shift 1: 7:30 AM ¿ 11:30 AM
    • Shift 2: 11:30 AM ¿ 3:30 PM
    • Additional shifts may become available for evenings and weekends as the department expands.
  • Student employees must have a class schedule that aligns with available shifts.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must pass a background check with a clean driving history.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and dispatching tasks.

Proposed Salary

$10.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis
