Position Summary:

The Sales Support Consultant is responsible for serving as a resource to agents and marketing organizations in matters relating to Life products and procedures. The Sales Support Consultant plays a key role in building relationships through education and by responding accurately and efficiently to requests, providing excellent support to agents and marketers. The consultants works collaboratively with the Internal Wholesalers and Regional Vice Presidents to assist the distribution.

How You’ll Contribute:

As a Sales Support Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our distribution channels by delivering outstanding service to agents and marketing organizations regarding life and annuity products. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll work closely with Internal Wholesalers, Regional Vice Presidents, and the broader Sales and Marketing team to ensure our partners are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to succeed. We are seeking candidates passionate about relationship building, continuous learning, and delivering customer-focused solutions, with strong communication skills and a foundational understanding of life insurance and annuity products.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide consultative support and training to agents and Independent Marketing Organizations (IMOs) via phone, email, and webinars.
  • Proactively promote products, services, and programs to agents through strategic outreach.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for agents, resolving questions related to products, technology, training, and procedures.
  • Coordinate administrative solutions and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and maintain sales support materials.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence on products, pricing, and market trends.
  • Support incentive program administration and participate in project-based initiatives.
  • Conduct on-site and virtual training sessions.
  • Partner with internal departments to resolve issues involving new business, contracting, funding, and inforce processes.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment by modeling company values and collaborating across teams.

What You’ll Bring:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the life and annuity industry required.

Experience:

  • With a degree: Minimum 2 years of life and/or annuity experience and at least 1 year of sales or sales support experience required.
  • Without a degree: Minimum 3 years of life and/or annuity experience and at least 2 years of sales or sales support experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of life insurance and annuity products (indexed and deferred annuities especially preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present and train effectively.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working independently and collaboratively in a hybrid or on-site setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Life, Accident & Health Insurance license (or willingness to obtain within 120 days of start date).
