Instructional Support Assistant
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Associate’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from a college or university program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and one (1) year of full-time customer service experience. In lieu of a degree, three (3) years of full-time administrative or customer service experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from a college or university program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Strong computer skills with Proficiency in various software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office. Familiarity with electronic health records and dental terminology. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Brief Description of Duties:
Support Assistants perform office support and administrative work to meet the requirements of the Dental Care Clinic programs. At Stony Brook Medicine, the Support Assistant is a valuable member of our team, and will interface with all levels of management throughout the Dental Care Center. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence.

This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non-Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,400 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
Essential Position: This has been designated as an essential position based on the duties of the job and the functions performed. Positions that are designated as such may be required to report to work/remain at work even if classes are canceled, and the campus is working on limited operations in an emergency.
