Job Description

Role summary:

To provide Anaesthetic care at the highest standards to patient.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Administer anaesthetic or sedation during medical procedures, using local, intravenous, spinal, or caudal methods
  • Confer with other medical professionals to determine type and method of anaesthetic or sedation to render patient insensible to pain
  • Examine patient, obtain medical history, and use diagnostic tests to determine risk during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures
  • Coordinate administration of anaesthetics with surgeons during operation
  • Decide when patients have recovered or stabilized enough to be sent to ICU or ward
  • Monitor patient before, during, and after anaesthesia and counteract adverse reactions or complications.
  • Support and cooperate with regional and local entities for patient medical evacuations
  • Participate in all trauma mass casualty triage with on-site staff when applicable
  • Assistance in the escalation of surgical patient care as per Iqarus protocols.
  • Ensure medical records are maintained following all clinical encounters to the highest standards
  • Oversee and ensure that all anaesthetic drugs, inventory list, consumable and equipment list are updated, maintained and submitted in a timely manner in line with the daily clinic operations
  • Liaise with Project Manager and or Medical Director to optimise quality care
  • Facilitate effective positive teamwork and clear channels of communication with onsite staff and senior management.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Specialty in Anaesthesia, with 5 years Post Grade experience.
  • Current medical license to practice medicine in country of origin (UK/EU registration
  • Valid and current medical course certificates such as ACLS/ALS and ITLS/PHTLS/ETC/ATLS
