About the role

The strategic goal of BayWa r.e. is the creation of a focused and integrated project developer in the renewable energy sector. The aim is to realize projects exceeding 2 GW per year and to expand the company’s own IPP portfolio to a total capacity of over 1 GW after its optimization starting in 2026. For our IPP portfolio, we are looking for a Digital Projects Engineer IPP (m/f/d) to join our team full-time in Munich, Hamburg or Freiburg.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to ensure smooth data flow from source systems to storage and processing platforms using Power Apps Dataflows
  • Implement and oversee data governance policies for the IPP database and related applications (Dataverse, Power Apps, Power BI, AMP), including role definitions, access management, and ensuring data quality, compliance, privacy, and security
  • Develop and maintain user-friendly front-end applications in Power Apps based on user requirements and defined processes, with a strong focus on UX/UI
  • Aggregate and integrate data from multiple sources, such as databases, APIs, and external providers, into the central IPP database and associated applications
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders—both within and outside the IPP team—to understand data needs and ensure accessibility and usability
  • Coordinate special IPP projects in collaboration with engineering departments, focusing on topics such as asset cybersecurity and the integration of new software solutions
  • Calculate and analyze custom technical KPIs for IPP assets using Power BI and other ad-hoc tools for business intelligence and performance monitoring

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, IT, or a related interdisciplinary field
  • Proficiency in Power BI and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB); experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint, and visual data analysis techniques is a plus
  • Ideally, prior work experience in the renewable energy sector
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with creativity and a pragmatic approach
  • Well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and bridge knowledge gaps between colleagues from different disciplines
  • Naturally curious, self-driven, and passionate about data-informed decision-making
  • Flexible, proactive, and a collaborative team player
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and German
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
