JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Application Engineering leads a team of engineers responsible for assisting the Vertiv sales force with proper application of Vertiv thermal management products. This role combines technical expertise with thoughtful leadership to enable professional growth within the team and business process improvements. The manager works closely with cross-functional teams including sales, product management, SFA product engineering, and sales operations. The ideal candidate possesses deep understanding of HVAC equipment, strong leaderships skills, and passion for developing early career engineers.
This role serves as a conduit between the field and national sales team members and internal departments such as engineering, offering management, etc. to develop and recommend products and services to meet customers’ requirements. Technical support includes but is not limited to assistance with performance calculation tools, application guidance, processing special feature authorizations (SFA) quote and order reviews, processing change orders, and providing technical input into bid proposals, projects, and technical documents within the sales process. As a senior member of the applications engineering team, this role not only mentors other team members, but will take the lead on projects and the resolution of complex issues.
