Divesting Agent

Job Summary:

The Divesting Agent supports MCO-Orlando International Airport security checkpoint operations by assisting passengers through the initial stages of security screening. This role requires exceptional customer service, communication skills, and the ability to maintain focus and composure in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Divesting Agents play a critical role in ensuring an efficient, courteous, and orderly flow of passengers while maintaining the safety and integrity of the screening process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist passengers at designated Security Checkpoints with preparing for security screening.
  • Guide travelers on what items to remove from their pockets and belongings before X-ray screening.
  • Provide and transfer inspection trays between the X-ray unit exit and entrance.
  • Move passenger carry-on baggage as necessary to maintain checkpoint efficiency.
  • Respond to passenger inquiries and provide clear, courteous guidance through the security process.
  • Assist passengers with special needs, ensuring a respectful and accommodating experience.
  • Control terminal entry and exit points as directed.
  • Perform general housekeeping of the checkpoint areas to maintain a clean and professional environment.
  • Interact politely and professionally with passengers, airline representatives, and federal employees.
  • Maintain awareness and composure in a stressful environment with frequent distractions such as alarms and crowd noise.

Training:

  • Complete required classroom instruction and On-The-Job Training (OJT).
  • Demonstrate competency in standard operating procedures before assignment to active-duty positions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and push for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move trays, baggage, and other items as needed.

Work Schedule:

  • Five days per week, including holidays, as needed.

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • A valid Florida Class-D Security License (preferred)
  • Must have completed - High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be able to pass a verifiable background check, including criminal, employment, education, and personal references.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment / annual / random drug screenings.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism under stress.
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Commitment to always upholding safety and security standards.
