Summary
This non-bid, hourly position is responsible for testing and evaluating the process water treatment systems in order to maximize solid and wet waste removal, ensuring the process water waste treatment facility is operating within the limits prescribed by law, and maintain the required documentation and records for testing, calibration, and permitting. The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the waste treatment systems areas, and processes along with having to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures operation and monitoring requirements have been met for Waste Water Treatment and Water Reuse systems such as: Influent System, Clarifier, Dissolved Air Floatation System, Centrifuges, Solid Waste, Digester Systems, pH system, etc.
- Responsible for sampling water, solids, pH, etc. as required by the Washington State Department of Ecology; may perform analysis of data in order to make adjustments.
- Ensures alertness and constant awareness of the safe operation of moving equipment and other potential safety hazards in a production plant.
- Ensures necessary level of communication is maintained with the appropriate personnel.
- Utilizes computer and computer programs to communicate, document, and track shift information and ensures that all documents and reports are completed accurately in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensures non-functioning equipment is reported to proper maintenance and supervisory personnel, logged, and monitored for timely repair.
- Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.
- May assist in training other personnel.
- Maintains Company standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs.
- Works within safety rules and regulations in actively avoiding injury to self and others.
- Ensures proper food safety sanitation and cleaning procedures of all packaging equipment and systems.
- Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and plant procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Maintains necessary level of communication with team members and other support groups and does so in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.
Ensures that additional accountabilities required by management are handled in a manner necessary to meet operational standards.
Typical Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

- Combination of experience and education will be considered.
Other Information
- Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver’s License, acceptable driving record, be able to drive throughout the Columbia Basin, and ensure that the Company Vehicle Policy is followed when on official Company business.
- May be required to meet OSHA standards for Fall Restraint (a total combined weight of employee and tools of no more than 310 pounds).
- Must be able to perform the duties as outlined in the Essential Functions.
- Must be willing and able to obtain the Water Distribution Manager 1 Certification.
- Must be willing and able to obtain other Certifications as required.
