About the Role

As a Strut Operator at Maverick Pipe in Rantoul, IL, you will play a key role in operating, setting up, and maintaining high-speed equipment with robotic components to form or cut steel to precise specifications. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys working with technology, and takes pride in maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Shift: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Pay: $20.00/Hour

What You’ll Do

• Observes all safety and LOTO procedures to operate equipment efficiently and maintain a safe work environment.
• Sets up and calibrates high-speed equipment and robotic elements for optimal operation.
• Inspects materials before, during, and after production runs to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Diagnoses equipment and quality issues promptly to minimize scrap and production delays.
• Records production data, including changeovers and scrap material, accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assists maintenance teams with repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Maintains necessary tools and equipment required for job completion.
• Participates in continuous improvement programs to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
• Performs housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and organized work environment.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English and maintain production records and logs accurately.
• Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, decimals, and fractions.
• Experience using measuring devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
• Certified or able to operate forklifts, and other production-related equipment.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
• Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per posted schedule is essential.

Physical Abilities

• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Must be able to stand for 10–12 hours at a time.
• Requires frequent climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
• Requires constant movement, manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing/plant environment.
• Other physical requirements as needed for the job.
