The Demand Planner is responsible for managing the portfolio demand plan at multiple levels of aggregation, using statistical models within SAP APO, and utilizing insights from Sales, Marketing, and Finance. The Demand Planner ensures alignment across all facets of the company, including sales targets and financial plans. The Demand Planner works closely with his/her peers in Red Bull North America (RBNA), as well as his/her manager to develop, optimize, and drive best practices with focus on continuous improvement.

  • DEMAND PLANNING
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings for half of Red Bull Distribution Companies largest regions for finished goods products.
  • Responsible for analyzing the historical sales data, compare stakeholder forecast (item by item) and determine base line and promotional impact for proposal during S&OP meetings.
  • Provide Demand Planning Management the insights necessary to gain management approval of proposed forecast by explaining assumptions and trends to the forecast and identifying risks and opportunities to the operating plan and financial framework.
  • Responsible for product alignment with Red Bull North America working with Operations, Finance and Sales.
  • Drive root cause analysis to understand demand plan error in prior periods, and implement strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Utilize fact-based approach to challenge assumptions inconsistent with brand strategy to highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Translate SKU monthly forecast to executable and effective DC level demand signal for supply planning.
  • Create a robust planning function to support continuous improvement in the total Supply Chain.
  • Manage disaggregation outlook within IBP to ensure Statistical FCST is accurate at the location/product level.
  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT
  • Pro-actively engage key customers, in conjunction with the Sales organization, to maintain required knowledge of customers practices, needs and strategies as they relate to forecasting and customer buying processes.
  • Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with key stakeholders, and team members within RBNA & RBDC.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment using multiple systems and requiring development of ad hoc reports integrating data from a variety of sources.
  • Ad Hoc projects as assigned working towards process improvement, optimization and cost reduction.
  • OPERATIONS
  • Lead resolution of demand/supply imbalances with key stakeholders.
  • Lead monthly forecast consensus with Finance Team to align on correct go-forward plan for order replenishment.
  • Participate in the identification and assessment of the impact of changing the customer base.
  • Partner with Supply Planning and Logistics to successfully manage product transitions, both new product introductions and end of life.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning and Customer Service teams to maximize customer fulfillment while concurrently minimizing working capital investment.
  • Lead operations-related and ad-hoc projects.

EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:

  • 3+ years of experience in a consumer goods environment with an understanding of major retail accounts and forecasting, supply chain management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field with undergraduate statistical analysis
  • Comprehensive knowledge of high-level retail operations, forecasting technology, systems, market research data, and supply chain management
  • Proven ability to conduct complex, quantitative, and statistical analyses complemented with qualitative inputs from multiple sources to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Strong Project Management Skills - Managing numerous projects at once, in a high-paced environment
  • Deep knowledge and experience in IBP & SAP / SAP APO
  • APICS certification a plus
  • Strong/Advanced skills in in Microsoft Excel (Pivot table functions, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, etc)
  • Travel 0-10%
