Salary range: A reasonable salary range estimate for this position is $74,100 - $141,800. The posted UC academic salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/2024-25-academic-salary-scales.html) set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment.

The Department of Psychiatry (https://psychiatry.ucsd.edu/) within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body.
We are conducting an open search for Specialists, Project Scientists, and Research Scientists at the Assistant, Associate, or Full level in various disciplines of neuropsychiatric disorders (https://psychiatry.ucsd.edu/research/programs-centers/index.html).
At UC San Diego, Specialists and Project Scientists make significant and creative contributions to research projects, while Research Scientists are academic researchers who develop and lead independent research and creative programs, equivalent to that required for the Ladder Rank Professor series.
The responsibilities of the selected candidates may include performing studies and experiments, analyzing and preparing reports and presentations summarizing data, and making scholarly contributions.

Appointment level/rank will be based on background and experience.
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, or a PhD or equivalent in a scientific field.
