GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Panel Saw Operator is responsible for the set-up and overall operation of the Panel Saw and the quality of the work produced.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Check for operation and the correct computer program in the machine at start up
Program dimensions for trim cuts, rip cuts, and finished cuts
Run a single part to check for accuracy before running complete shop order. Make adjustment to the machine as necessary.
After making the adjustments get the part approved by Quality or the proper personnel. Get the proper tools, (bits, etc.) to run parts correctly
Frequently check the part as the machine is operating and place Quality label
Process parts and off bear to proper container
Complete proper ID tags with shop order number, part number, quantity and operation number
Knowledge of the programs on the machine to be able to adjust or repair tools.
Continuously verify the integrity of the blades
Communicates to the on-coming shift any issues prior to start up
Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment required for machine/department
Maintains assigned work area in clean & orderly fashion
Check all safety devices
Must be able to maintain the required adjusted average efficiency
Operate forklift as necessary
Manufacture order tickets – complete how many run and scrapped. Turn in when the order is complete
Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with others and work in a team-based environment

Experience Required:
Required Length & Type of Experience:
Three to six months mechanical and manufacturing experience minimum
Forklift certification required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Familiarity with machining computer programing preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and basic computer skills.
Proficiency in computer-based design programs and WRMD proprietary software is required
This position requires the ability to grasp design and engineering principles and to understand the manufacturing process. The Engineering Clerk must have good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
