Under the supervision of the Principal, the Community Coordinator will perform duties related to developing and improving community relations. The Community Coordinator will support the school in its efforts to increase and maintain communication between the school and our students, families, staff, and community partners and other community organizations and high schools and colleges. The Community Coordinator will similarly work to develop and sustain positive relations with other schools in the community and other organizations within the NYC Department of Education. The Community Coordinator will also work with local businesses, corporations and community-based organizations to solicit interest in supporting and/or providing sites for the school’s fieldwork, internship, community service or community farming programs. Current groups working with the school include: Italian Heritage Foundation, Catholic Charities. Performs related work.

Key Relationships:
Serves as a liaison between school administration and community groups by coordinating and facilitating communication between the school, staff, students, families, community organizations, businesses, government agencies and the communities that these vital organizations represent.
Work Schedule:
This is a 12 month, 35 hour per week annual assignment. Position will require flexibility with respect to work hours in order to meet the needs of the school community, including early mornings, evenings and weekends. Use of earned vacation and/or compensatory time is subject to approval of school principal.
$60,733 (New Hire Rate)
$69,844 - $94,279 (Incumbent - 2 years of full-time continuous City service)
