Molex is seeking a Procurement professional to take the role of Nogales Supply Base Management (SBM) Lead in our Consumer & Commercial Solutions (CCS) division Sourcing team. This is a strategic & tactical role to manage the supply base from both Category & Operational Management sides. The candidate will interact with Nogales Manufacturing Plant, Operation teams, NPD Sourcing teams, Business Unit leads, Global Category Management, and all Suppliers in North America (Direct categories).

Our Team

  • The job is strategic as well as tactical, requiring a strong Relationship building skill set to:
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior level management of strategic suppliers in Mexico / US.
  • Support Manufacturing footprint transformation in rebalancing production in-house and externally.
  • Be the business Partner of Plants & Business Unit teams with expertise on costing & supplier networking.

What you will do

  • Act as a Single Point of Contact for all Categories (Mechanicals, Raw Materials, and Electronics) on strategic sourcing topics & issues with suppliers across all BUs in the Nogales plant.
  • Productivity: Analyze spend, Conduct RFQ, and Lead price negotiations on regular basis with suppliers. Aggressively negotiate terms in accordance with internal policies. Build a robust pipeline of savings opportunities with internal & external stakeholders using multiple levers & tactics (Nego, Change of Suppliers, VA/VE…). Achieve Annual targets.
  • Assurance of Supply: Manage Nogales supply base for all products, across all BUs in Mass Production. Support escalations from the Plant with sense of urgency to resolve supply issues quickly.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build virtuous cycles of mutual benefit with Key suppliers in Mexico. Create and maintain Contracts & Agreements with suppliers. Support GCM’s annual BRM plan with the critical suppliers.
  • Develop and manage a robust & dynamic supplier base in Nogales for Outsourcing & Raw Materials categories, including component suppliers for: Wire/Cable, Resins, Injection Molding, Stamping, Plating, and others… to meet business requirements, and the Cost/Quality/Delivery needs for the Plant Operations.
  • Closely align with Global & Divisional Category Managers (Metals, Plastics, Electronics, and Outsourcing etc).
  • Engage with various internal stakeholders such as Engineering, Product Manager, Operation, Plant, Quality, Finance and Legal, as well as sourcing engineers/managers in other Molex sites as needed.
  • Build up mutual benefits between Molex Business and External partners to create and sustain a virtuous cycle.
  • Team development & Succession plan: Deploy PBM, develop key talents & build a robust succession plan for key roles.

Who you are

  • English professional proficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Mechanical etc.,) or business area of study. Master’s, desired.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Procurement or Engineering.
  • Experience as Category Manager for Mechanical and / or electronic components.
  • Global Manufacturing experience.

What will put you ahead

  • SAP Knowledge
  • 5+ years’ experience in Connector, Automotive or EMS industry.
  • Previous background in Engineering, Finance, Project Management, and/or Business Management.
  • Expertise in Procurement for Mechanical components & Raw Materials for the Connector Industry (Stamping, Plating, Assembly, Resins, Metals, etc).
