The Sales and Specification Hybrid position will be responsible for supporting a subset of the A&D and direct South Florida transactional accounts. This position will have responsibilities for leading both specifications and account management and direct responsibility over our company showroom. Based in Fort Lauderdale/Miami or surrounding area, this role will be responsible for creating Formica product specifications, finalizing details and closing sales for projects with local accounts within his/her assigned Territory – including pricing, quantities, material specifications, and shipping/delivery.

A Short List of Your Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Identify new opportunities for Formica sales within the Architect and Design community, within assigned territory, to achieve/exceed financial objectives including sales, share, and profitability.
  • Being a key member of the market selling team consisting of Inside Sales, and our corporate level A&D Specialist, Territory Manager and regional management team, tracking of projects and opportunities to grow Formica sales in assigned territory.
  • Identify and understand competitive landscape, inclusive of product and distribution and actively share these findings appropriately.
  • Accurately prepare monthly demand forecasts as well as structured and ad hoc market reports, and track performance to deliver/exceed the Territory sales plan monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Maintain current product and program knowledge – both Formica and competitive information, to effectively present Formica programs and products to customers to close sales; can use facts, data, and information to effectively overcome sales barriers, and ensure Formica product is specified in jobs.
  • Finalize and close sales with OEMs and target accounts and local fabricators, within assigned territory to achieve/exceed financial objectives including sales, share, and profitability.
  • Execute and facilitate comprehensive use of the marketing collateral & strategy in the market.
  • Coordinate and take ownership of shared showroom schedule, meet and develop sales opportunities in showroom using selling skills and strong follow-up processes to close projects.

We’re Looking for A Self-Starter Who Meets the Following Requirements:

  • 3 + years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated sales ability
  • Ability to travel in designated markets, including some overnight travel
  • Business to Business (B2B) selling experience preferred
  • Selling architecturally specified products preferred
  • Leads by example; ability to motivate others to achieve results
  • Excellent bi-lingual (verbal and written) communication, interpersonal, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills. (Spanish & English)
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate within a branch location and across the internal organization (Field Sales, Marketing, Legal, etc.)
  • Computer literacy
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage time
  • Knowledge of local markets preferred
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide solutions to customer needs in a win-win fashion
  • Must be able to present a value proposition and overcome price discussion/negotiation
  • Effectively balances internal relationships with external customer demands
